Focus of the site planning was to promote predictability in movement.
First the different vehicular and pedestrian routes were decided which has minimum overlap, yet serves the buildings on campus.
Next priority was to design the routes of different groups of students. For e.g., school students being the most vulnerable group should have least number of turns in their daily routes and their regular path should be at a considerable distance from hospital visitors.
With the user routes clarified, an external corridor plan was done at the site level, which helped in locating different tactile landscape element to alert the pedestrian about building entrances, crossing a vehicular path and tactile signage.
Moreover, different parts of the site were designed with different sensorial qualities, for better way-finding and landmark values.
